Two Factor Authentication (Optional)

Two factor authentication is optional in the Heureka system. If you decide to deactivate 2FA once it is set up, 2FA codes will no longer be valid and the "Need new code" option must be used for each user in order to obtain a new QR code.

To set up two factor authentication, please follow the steps listed below.

Steps:

  1. (Heureka Interface): Enable two factor authentication in your Heureka application. This can be done using the "Configuration" button under the user icon in the top right of your Heureka interface.
  2. (Desktop/Laptop): Check your email for instructions and a link to generate a QA code.
  3. (Mobile Device): Download or launch “Google Authenticator” or "SASSPASS" app on your mobile device.
  4. (Mobile Device): Select the plus sign (+) in your 2FA app to add a new account.
  5. (Mobile Device): Select “Scan Barcode” on your mobile device.
  6. (Mobile Device): Scan the barcode with your 2FA app.
  7. (Mobile Device): Your Heureka Software account should be added to the Authenticator.
  8. (Heureka Interface): Use your login email, password and enter the six digit 2FA code to log into the Heureka interface.

Single Sign On (Optional)

Heureka supports single sign on using a SAML version 1.0 via Okta. Follow the steps below to enable single sign on within the Heureka Command Console.

  1. Navigate to the Heureka configuration page in the upper-right corner of your interface.
  2. From the dropdown list select Configuration
  3. Look for the option Single Sign On in the System Configuration area and select the checkbox

SCIM (System for Cross-Domain Identity Management

Heureka support multi-user management with SCIM. Follow the directions below to enable SCIM in your system.

  1. Navigate to the Heureka configuration page in the upper-right corner of your interface.
  2. Under the SCIM section, check the box to Enable SCIM
  3. A new bearer Token will automatically be generated by the system.
  4. Copy the bearer token to your scim interface in order to send commands to the Heureka Command Console.

Heureka supports the following SCIM functionality:

  • Create Account
  • Read list of accounts
  • Read account details
  • Update account details
  • Deactivate Account

If, for whatever reason you need to regenerate the Bearer Token, simply click on the Regenerate button and a new token will be created by the system.

Standard Login

  1. Log into Interrogate by entering email address and password.
  2. Click the red arrow or press <enter> on your keyboard.

If you have forgotten your password, you may reset it by clicking on the "Forgot Password?" button at the bottom of your login screen. An email will be generated allowing you to reset your password.


Cloud-based system passwords

When new users are entered into the system, an email is generated from support@heurekasoftware.com with a link to your Heureka instance. You will immediately be asked to change your password before you are able to log into Heureka. 

On-Prem system passwords

When new users are entered into the system, an email is generated from the administrators address which was set up upon installation containing a password. You will immediately be asked to change your password before you are able to log into Heureka.

Failed Login Attempts

As a security feature, the system automatically disables any user who has failed the login/password process a total of ten (10) times. A user who has been locked out can only be reactivated by the Heureka system administrator. Once the user has been reactivated, they may use the "Forgot Password" function at the bottom of the login screen to trigger a reset of their password. 


Log Out

Once you are logged into the system, you may log out at any time by clicking on "Log Out" drop-down from the user management button in the upper right corner.


Auto-Timeout

Users will be automatically timed out if the system has not be used for 15 minutes.
