Index Date Information
The Heureka Search Results grid includes four separate date fields
Date Created
The date and time when an item is created on the file system in its current location.
Date Modified
The date and time of the last modification to the file on the file system.
Date Accessed
Indicates the last time the file was accessed in the file system.
Doc Date
The Doc Date was the only original date in the Heureka interface. It refers to the Date Modified for loose files or the Date Sent in emails.
DATE FAQ's
How can the Date Created be newer than the Date Modified (See pic in upper right corner)?
When files are copied from one location to another, the date created is updated to the date/time of when the file is copied to the new location. The Date Modified field remains at the last date/time when the file was modified.
Why doesn't the Date Accessed shown in Heureka match what I'm seeing on my file system?
The Date Accessed field may change frequently on the file system, however, it does NOT change the content of the file itself. Heureka's indexing engine compares the Date Modified from the previously indexed file to the current to determine whether or not the content of the file has changed. If the Date Modified is different, a re-index of the file is triggered.
What is the difference between Doc Date and Date Modified?
Doc Date was the only date shown in the original Heureka interface and for loose file it matched the current Date Modified field or the Date Sent field if an email. Subsequent updates to the interface have produced individual file fields for dates and at some point in the future Doc Date may be eliminated.
