Problem
Compliance analysts have been randomly discovering credit cards on various computers throughout their network. They suspect that they problem is widespread, but have been unable to determine the extent of the issue or the source of the information leak.
Solution
Heureka Interrogate automatically detects credit cards and social security numbers across every laptop and desktop in the organization. The Interrogate risk dashboard graphically displays the risk profile of each asset and tracks history of risk over time. Compliance analysts can quickly determine the highest risk assets and closely monitor their profiles to determine the source of the issue.
Interrogate Workflow #1 (Automatic)
Heureka endpoints automatically scan for PII information each day and report back to the Risk Dashboard. This information is available without user involvement. If, however you wish to view PII on the file level, you may select specific endpoints from the grid and then create a search based solely on those endpoints.
The Risk Dashboard displays current risk, 30-day history, type of risk and a breakdown of risk on each endpoint.
Search
- Select endpoints from the grid
- Select "Create Search from Selected Endpoints" in the Endpoints grid
- Select a pre-existing job in which to place the search
- Edit/change the automatically created search criteria
- Select "Search" and input name.
Analyze
Once the endpoint(s) begin to stream results back to your search result page, you will see file-level information such as File Name, Risk Score, Tags, File Path, etc, in the Grid Results area.
Take Action
You may export your returned results using the "Export to CSV" function. This flat-file CSV can then be imported to any desired analytics program for further analysis. If you are required to collect the files to a new location, use the "Collect Files" function.
Interrogate Workflow #2 (User Defined)
Search
Interrogate's search feature allows you to define both endpoints and the specific type of risk you would like to focus on (Credit card or Social Security number).
- Create a Job and Search in Interrogate.
- Select the desired endpoints you would like to search.
- In Quick Filters, select the type of pattern to return or "select all" for both credit card and social security.
- Select "Search" and input name.
Analyze
Once the endpoint(s) begin to stream results back to your search result page, you will see file-level information such as File Name, Risk Score, Tags, File Path, etc, in the Grid Results area.
Take Action
You may export your returned results using the "Export to CSV" function. This flat-file CSV can then be imported to any desired analytics program for further analysis. If you are required to collect the files to a new location, use the "Collect Files" function.
